Sewing: Zipper Cushion

Creation ZoneLearn the basics of sewing by making your own zippered cushion cover. Fabric and zippers will be provided. Beginner level. Ages 16+.
Build your sewing skills while creating a custom zippered cushion cover! In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn how to operate a sewing machine, practice sewing straight seams, and gain hands-on experience inserting a zipper into a project. By the end of the program, you’ll leave with a finished cushion cover that you can proudly use at home.
Pillow forms are not provided. The finished covers will fit a standard 18" x 18" pillow. You are welcome to bring your own cushion to the program, or you may purchase a pillow insert afterward. Sewing machines, fabric, and zippers will all be supplied. Please note that fabric patterns are subject to availability and may differ from the examples shown.
If participants are more than 15 minutes late to the program, their spot may be given to another interested patron.

Located within the Iroquois Ridge Community Centre, Iroquois Ridge Branch is home to a large collection of materials, study spaces, and a Creation Zone. The branch hosts a variety of programs for all ages, with a particular focus on new and emerging technologies, such as virtual reality and Tinker Toys. Parking is free.
