Level up your Python skills in this interactive workshop! You will expand your coding toolkit with dictionaries, nested loops, and Turtle graphics to create visually appealing projects. Age 8-12

By the end of this workshop, you will design a more advanced program (Ie a quiz game or interactive art), combining logic and creativity.  Perfect for students ready to push their abilities further!  

This workshop is led by volunteers from STEM from Scratch, a high school student-led organization providing STEM opportunities to students.

What you will learn:

  • How to store data efficiently with dictionaries
  • How to create nested loops and conditionals
  • How to create visual designs with Turtle graphics
  • How to debug code strategies
  • How to build a simple project

Requirements:

  • A laptop (participants must bring their own)
  • An HDSB school email (for Replit access)
  • Basic Python knowledge (variables, loops, lists)

Who should attend:

  • Students aged 8-12 with some Python experience
  • Young coders eager to tackle bigger challenges
