Join us to listen to the nominees for the Blue Spruce Award read their own books to our young readers (Ages 4-7)

The Forest of Reading is Canada’s largest recreational reading program, with more than a quarter of a million readers participating every year! This is an opportunity to listen to the authors of the nominated books read the books to our young readers!

Designed to encourage a love of reading, the Forest of Reading celebrates Canadian authors, illustrators and publishers. Readers aged 4-7 can participate in these virtual author visits and listen to the author read their own book. This event features the books That's Not My Name by Anoosha Syed and Granny's Kitchen by Sadé Smith.

Participants are encouraged to read or listen to at least five of the ten nominated titles to be eligible to vote with Oakville Public Library in the branch in April. In April, all votes are tabulated province-wide and a winning author and book are announced in May.
