Introduction to Punch Needle Embroidery
Tuesday, July 21
6:30pm - 8:30pm
Glen Abbey Branch
Creation ZoneCome learn the basics of punch needle embroidery! Punch, sketch, and stitch your way through a creative Cricut‑powered workshop. Ages 18+
Punch needle embroidery, also known as punch needle or needle punch, is a textile embroidery technique that involves punching loops of yarn through a woven foundation fabric. The loops build up a raised, textured surface with a unique and distinctive look. Punch needle embroidery is beginner-friendly, fast, and easy to learn - it's also the perfect creative project to pick up and easily put down, as there is no stitch or row counting!
In this hands‑on introductory workshop, you’ll learn how to choose your materials, thread your punch needle, create clean lines and textured fills, and troubleshoot common issues as you work.
We’ll also explore how to use Cricut Design Space and the Cricut Maker to turn your ideas into clean, traceable punch‑needle patterns. You’ll learn how to import or create simple designs and let the Cricut draw your custom template so you can start stitching with confidence.
By the end of the session, you’ll complete a small punch‑needle piece to take home—along with the skills to keep creating on your own. All materials are provided, and no prior experience is needed.
