Turn ordinary text into powerful poetry. This program is all about creative expression! Suitable for ages: 13-17
In this hands-on workshop, teens will explore blackout poetry by transforming pages from books, newspapers, or printed articles into original poems. By selecting words and blacking out the rest, participants will discover how meaning, tone, and emotion can emerge in unexpected ways.
The session begins with a short introduction and examples of blackout poetry, followed by time to create, share, and reflect. Teens are encouraged to experiment, take risks, and express themselves visually and creatively. No writing or art experience is needed. All materials are provided.
