Refreshments and a drop in seedball workshop, presented by Oakvillegreen. Learn about native plants and how to increase local biodiversity.
You will have the opportunity to make native wildflower seed balls and take them with you so you can support pollinator habitats in your yards.
10:45-Noon Staying Safe Online: Scams, Fraud & Cyber Harassment
Join Varsha Vaishali, Founder of Cyber Harassment Support (CHS), for a practical, easy-to-follow session on staying safe in today’s digital world. We’ll talk about common scams targeting older adults (phone, text, email, WhatsApp and romance scams), sextortion and identity theft, and new risks like AI deepfakes , all explained in simple language with real-life examples. Participants will learn how to spot red flags, protect their devices and accounts, and what to do if something goes wrong. You’ll leave with a clear safety checklist and information on where to get help in Oakville and beyond.
