A great opportunity to learn how to care for your family artifacts. Ages 18+

This presentation is of particular interest to genealogical researchers, and explores best practices for storing personal treasures. Participants will learn how to care for their family history documents at home, including detailed instructions on proper storage and handling. Our presenter will offer advice about where to acquire archival supplies or when to seek out the help of an independent conservator. This presentation also includes information about digitizing private collections to ensure they will be available for future generations.

About our Speaker:

Adriane VanSeggelen is the Conservator at the Archives of Ontario and works to preserve Ontario’s heritage, through conservation treatments and preventive conservation measures. She has worked at the Archives of Ontario for over ten years and been able to grow her passion for both archival collections and community outreach. Adriane holds a diploma in Collections Conservation and Management from Fleming College and a BAH from Queen’s University in Classics.
