You are invited to a panel discussion and public Q&A session about Oakville Public Library’s journey to New Central Branch.
From Oakville Public Library's heritage, we welcome George Farrow and Ron Baird to discuss the Central Branch's original build and artistic features. Looking on the horizon, the pair will be joined by Andrew Frontini who is the lead Architect for the New Central Branch project.
George Farrow: Farrow (90), original architect of Oakville Public Library Central Branch, is a self-published author and illustrator, wood carving expert and community advocate at the Rotary Club of Oakville. His debut autobiographical children’s book, Miss Lizzy: A Journey Through Time, is now available at Oakville Public Library.
Ron Baird: Baird is one of Canada’s most renowned sculptors having executed over 300 public, corporate and private commissions. His works are in many public parks, churches, synagogues, community centres, libraries, and government buildings. His works are currently featured at Oakville Public Library Central Branch.
Andrew Frontini: Frontini is the Principal and Design Director for Perkins&Will, the architecture firm recently awarded the design of the New Central Branch. His award-winning designs for universities, municipalities, library systems and commercial clients have been published internationally.
