Reading Buddies

The Reading Buddies program is designed to help children develop confidence in reading. Ages 6-10

In this program, children are paired with a teen volunteer "reading buddy," who will support building reading confidence. Children and buddies will select and read books together, and complete fun literacy-based activities.

The goal of reading buddies is to inspire a love of reading, through encouragement, engagement, and motivation. While we hope children improve their reading skills through this program, our reading buddies do not teach reading and do not act as tutors.

Skills Learned: Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, Information Literacy, Flexibility, Social Skills

This program is unregistered. Tickets are required, limited, and vary by branch. Tickets will be distributed 15min prior to program start. 

Parents/caregivers must remain on-site for the duration of the program.
