Title: Teen Advisory Group Member
Location: Central Branch- Program Room
Hours: Minimum of 14 hours
Start Date: September 11th, 2019
Report to: Central Branch Assistant
The Oakville Public Library is seeking members for the Teen Advisory Group an exciting and educational way for teens to become involved in their community. The group is comprised of fifteen high school students who each assist in advising the public library about collections, events and programs, content as it relates to teens as well as promoting services, collections and programs on behalf of Teen Services.
Qualifications and Skills:
Interest in advocating teen services on behalf of the library
Knowledge of teen trends and enthusiasm for sharing ideas
Commitment to attend all outlined TAG meetings throughout the year
Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others
Major Responsibilities:
Help promote participation in teen library events and TAG activities
Attend all TAG meetings and be an active participant
Attend additional TAG events and planned programs
Time commitment: In addition to other teen events occurring at Oakville Public Library, The Teen Advisory Group will be meeting on the following Wednesday evenings at the Central Branch for monthly Teen Advisory Group Meetings.
Length of commitment: September 2019 – June 2020
